This new facility for the Common Pleas Court of Clark County encompassed a new addition and renovations to the existing juvenile detention facility in downtown Springfield, Ohio. The second floor of 15,624 sf was completely renovated as well as approximately 80% of the first floor, or 15,144 sf, and a new 16,131 sf addition was built.

This "tight" urban site allowed for excellent staging and coordination to be displayed by the professional project team at Kapp Construction. The facility consists of new cells, new exercise areas both indoor and out, and a state of the art security system, including new fire security additions. A new courtroom and clerk rooms were also added. The office of Judge Joseph Monnin was added to the new addition, and the existing magistrate’s offices were renovated.

We at Kapp Construction are very proud to have delivered this wonderful project. We always realize that construction on an operating entity can be quite disruptive, but the staff at the court took this all in stride, making for an exceptional result.
